FAO has recently completed a Technical Cooperation Project on the control of BXW in Uganda, which involved running Farmer Field Schools in 5 districts across the country. 100 schools were run in Kiboga, Mbarrara, (other district names?)

At the end of the TCP, a regional meeting was held to consider the current disease situation (2009) and lessons which have been learned in the control of BXW.
