NEWSLETTER No. 7
2nd March 2009

First FSN Forum Newsletter of 2009

In early 2009, the FSN Forum reached a new peak with over 1000 members, 31 e-discussions, 611 resource papers, over 40 useful web-links and 218 news/events.

In January this year, the FSN Forum was present at the international Knowledge Share Fair for Agricultural Development and Food Security (http://www.sharefair.net/), held at FAO headquarters in Rome, where it received very positive response. The FSN Forum is also featured in the current issue of the
Inside Knowledge Magazine, a well-known publication (http://www.ikmagazine.com/currentissue.asp)

Our future plans include strengthening linkages with other networks such as UNDP’s Poverty Reduction Network and the MDGNetwork (a UN Development Group Network), where the discussion “Draft of the National Agricultural and Food Policy for Uzbekistan“ is being cross-posted.

We would like to hear more about your experiences with the Forum. Charlotte Dufour, independent consultant in Food Security, Nutrition and Livelihoods, has broken the ice by kindly sharing her experience with the FSN Forum in an interview with Huyen Tran, the Forum moderator. You can listen to this interview at: http://km.fao.org/fsn/video/. Other members have also shared many feedbacks by email. Please read their opinions at http://km.fao.org/fileadmin/user_upload/fsn/docs/Members_Feedbacks.xls

Warmest regards,

The FSN Forum Team
