policy dialogue, coordination & implementation

The development and maintenance of adequate national plant breeding capacity requires government policies that promote scientific, economic and social developments. Policy planning and reform is a necessary dimension of sound national governance for food security and sustainable agricultural development.

One of the five objetives of GIPB is the provision of policy guidance on plant breeding and associated biotechnology capacity building to policy-makers in developing countries to help allocate resources to strengthen and sustain capacity to use plant genetic resources for food and agriculture. Towards this end, GIPB will be promoting and facilitating access to knowledge and information tools such as:

Country reports and success cases of policy coordination and implementation
